Indian population and tax payers.

Few days back an important news of the newspaper came to my notice to the effect that only one percent of the total population  are tax payers against  one hundred twenty core people.

If it is  so the scenario is highly disappointing and at the same time surprising. It suggests that only a small section of our vast country earns a reasonable amount.

But the reality possibly exhibits a different picture. The salaried people are bound to pay tax.
But a large section of people are engaged in small medium and big business. Apart from business a large number of people are engaged in different proffesions like Doctors, Advocates, Chartered accountants ,Tax consultants,Developers, painters , Engineers and Brokers of different categories ,  priests etc. If all these are clubbed automatically the percentage will be much higher.

Personally I feel a fear psychology works.
The tax rule should be as simple as possible so as to maximum section of people come within the purview of tax payments. As a result the tax collection will be increased considerably.

Our govt has to incur huge expenditure for the vast country and the job becomes easier if the collection is satisfactory.

It is my humble prayer to take up the job on war footing basis and thus to bring success of the national income.

The object possibly should be to bring those people under tax group who are presently out of tax payments .Thus the rate for the low income group should be much lower so that this low income group of people also pay tax and since they are the major section of the country it  will result in huge collection. Those who are presently tax payer for them the rate should not be reduced as they are capable of paying tax out of their earnings.
