Debabrata Biswas and Viswa Bharati Music Board.

There was a music Board. under Bisha Bharati in short   it was named as BMB. The life time of the same was fifty years from the day I of the death of Rabindra Nath. For each recording of Rabindra Sangeet  irrespective of all singers the approval of  the BMB was a must .As regards recording of Debabrata Biswas is concerned there was no problem till Sailaja Ranjan Maunder was in charge of the Board.Mazumder was highly  scholar person and expert  of Rabindra Sangeet. He was highly  respected person for his profound knowledge both in academic side and Rabindra Sangeet.After his death eminent expert of Rabindra Sangeet took over as head of the. Board . Debabrata Biswas had no problem with it Anadi Babu and after his death the problem started when the responsibility were given to a group of singers like Suchitra Mitra. Kanika  Nilima Sen. Subinoy  ROY and. Santidev Ghosh . They were junior to Debabrata Biswas both in age and experience. They raised a question for the first time in regard to use the music violating the norms of the Board.Debabrata replied with the facts and figures and the same was purely academic but the issue was not settled despite prolonged correspondences. Debabrata did not surrender to them in stead he stopped recording.The technical question which had been raised was official one but the unofficial reasons were they were jealous of his unprecedented popularity and highest earning of royalty . The most funny thing and surprising the most of  the then intellectuals who claimed to be close fans  they remained totally silent.He had to fight the war alone with a very straight bat that's his pen only . He didn't get any support from his Co Artists excepting only one Gita Ghatak. Despite the fact though he stopped recording but with the help of tape recorder he recorded about thousand songs . We should be happy just after completing fifty years of death of Rabindra Nath the Music Board had been abolished. My labour will be fruitful if you could take the pain of reading the same.Typographical errors are regretted.

Criminals Babas .

At this moment an honest  attempt may.  be made to find out the exact number of criminals gurus through out the country and giving  details of state wise .The nob may be taken up by the all state govts and each state govt  shall be responsible for the respective state . It has already been delayed. Hence there should be no delay .The situation is _alarming.The criminal guru who has been arrested is the owner of big kingdom the value of the same likely to be few thousand crore. Police raiding has been continuing and after completing the same the details of killing and about other anti social activities may be informed to us . It is shameful for the nation that such such   fraud gurus keep close contact with the political leaders of  the ruling and opposition parties along with the higher level of police department.Another important point the cooncerened baba is the owner  of such bingo  kingdom and it is obvious that no attempt has been taken by the income tax deptt to ascertain the value of the assets .one Baba may lead to loss of the country and if the number comes to a respectable figures the extent of loss and criminal acts committed by then are beyond imagination.

Train journey by a former captain of Indian cricket team.

Very recently one of our former respected and esteemed captains  has traveled by a train of Indian Railway and thus has glorified Indian Railway . I fail to understand everyday around two core passengers travel by train and it is certain that  among huge number of passengers there are sure some passengers who are highly scholars and professional personnels and for obvious reasons we don't pay any attention to them.But our attitude towards former captain to me a matter of funny.

The atmosphere of the station looked as if the president  of USA  was going.I feel for the poor Bengalis that an unlimited Bengalis were born in this soil , who made magnificent contribution s in      different fields  but unfortunately we have forgotten them .

We're now only after one person who has no social contributions. Who will free Bengali from all calamities ? I don't know whether we  should consider  ourselves as fortunate or unfortunate.

Best drama of the century.

We are extremely fortunate for  having an excellent opportunity in watching the best drama of the century  pertaining to appointment of the  Chief coach of the national cricket team. Three former national cricketers were in charge  of a technical committee of taking interviews of the candidates for the said post .On the fixed day interview was taken. Surprisingly one candidate who was rejected by the interview Board had appeared this time also. The most funny thing is one of the members of the technical committee announced that the matter of appointment of coach would be discussed with the captain of the national team and his opinion would  be given due importance. Or  in other words the recommendation of the captain will be final . Accordingly discussions was made with the caption and he made his strongest recommendation for the present coach .

While the caption was the last person in regard to appointment for the coach  It is one of the greatest fun to take the interview and there was no need of interview resulting t loss of  time and money.

However , according to choice or the captain appointment was issued.

The  surprising thing the candidate  was rejected last  year and the circumstances in which he had been proved to be suitable.

It may be concluded that the decision of last year was  either wrong or the current decision is wrong.

Now let us discuss about to second part of drama .The technical committee also recommended the names of supporting staff including the second cricket personality of the country as far as tests record is concerned. The name of a medium first bowler was also there.

Surprisingly the new coach raised an important question that the technical committee can't do anything in regard to appointment of supporting staff .

The Board accordingly withheld the appointment of Supporting staff .After waiting few days to second cricket personality of the country refused to accept any offer.

My question is   very simple whether two cricketers deserve such humiliation At the same time the technical committee is equally  responsible for such humiliation.Surprisingly they acted without the permission of the  Board .They also can't deny their responsibilities for the humiliation of the gems .

So called child artist in Bengali serials.

It has been experienced that  recently in every Bengali serial so called one  or more child artists are found .They are utilised in most of the   cases to deliver dialogues of the adults. Besides they are also used to act in   criminal characters.

To  me it is better to treat them as Child labour. They  are to work for ten to twelve hours.  The extent of hard work that they are to perform is surprising. Besides they  are to attend  schools.It  can be appreciated that after such work it is impossible to attend schools .Even they attend schools it is impossible to make time for doing the home tasks and also  read at home.

It therefore suggest that there is a big question before the academic career of the children artists.I don't know how the guardians allow their children to face such inhuman condition.

I shall pray to the appropriate authority to examine the whole subject.

MY heartfelt tribute to Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy.

Today is the birthday of the great great son of Bengal. I am fortunate that I had an excellent opportunity to see him  while I was a student of school .
He was the then Chief Minister of west Bengal.It  is very difficult to evaluate his much supremacy in three fields like medical profession ,  Administrator  and politics.He was the most surprising personality of the country  as a physician the county has ever produced.

Possibly he was the only Indian who completed his MRCP and FRCS within one year from UK.
As a physician he did miracles in respect of huge number of patients.Besides it is rare case where same person had qualified in  both medicine and surgery. The most surprising thing is that he could  diagnose  by seeing the patients without going for any test.Besides , during  his time no such arrangements of tests were available like today.

Even after being Chief Minister he used to examine few patients everyday at his residence.As a Chief Minister he held the office for fourteen years.He took over at a very crucial time.
At that time the east of the Bengal was included in Pakistan and renamed as East Pakistan.As a result of partition of Bengal from the former east part of Bengal huge number of people came here as refugees for which acute shortages of accommodation and food developed.

He faced the crisis bravely and efficiently.He established Ashokenagar for refugees ,a big township consisting of about ten thousand homes . He established Kalyani City . He established state Transport corporation with the object of employment of many young persons.During his tenure Haringhata  milk project ,Durgapur steel city and  Laketown and Salt Lake City were established.

He also established chittaranjan Railway Locomotive factory etc.It is indeed surprising that during his tenure of only fourteen years how he could do such huge work.Another very important thing   must be mentioned and I would like to attract the attention of the present generation. During his early days of practice as a physician he also worked as a part time taxi driver.
Apart from his immense reputation as physician something should be said about his political career. In 1923 he joined politics and within a very short time he became an important political leader.Firstly he became Mayor of KMC . In 1942 he was also nominated as VC of Calcutta University.

The great son of the country died on first July 1962 on his birthday.

Unwillingness to study nursing.

Very recently an important  as well as sensitive news through print media came to my notice to the fact that presently the girls are not willing to study nursing despite the fact few thousand posts of Nurses have been lying vacant in Govt Hospitals .As a result , the  Health Administration has been facing immense problems.It is surprising to see the said non interest.

I would    request to the appropriate authority to examine in depth to find out the reasons for the unwillingness to study nursing and if possible to find the way to solve the problems on the urgent basis. If no solution is found I propose kindly to think whether arrangements may be made to fill the vacancies by male candidates after getting them completed the course.

College admission and corrupt practice.

After passing higher secondary examination a large number of students  proceed for studying Medicine and Engineering .Some students proceed for polytechnic and many other courses . The remaining  huge number of students for general education go for admission in colleges.  Here  the whole problem starts .

The number of colleges having been less with reference   to the number of students .
As a result , huge demand arises for getting admitted into the colleges.  The problems arise for both the good and ordinary students.

A group of persons in almost every college take the chance of corrupt practice and take Bribe for getting admitted into colleges. As a result , it is found  some good students can not offer money and are unable to get admitted despite securing good marks .

It is extremely injustice on the good  students and it is a curse of the country. Besides it is not good for any individual and collectively large number of students start their higher education with bribe.

Besides it is found in electronic media that a large number of students look disappointed for being failed for admission despite doing well. For the interest of the society and of the large number of students  absolutely clean and fair system should be implemented to remove slightest corruption.

I would pray to the appropriate authority to take all steps to ensure that the corruption is totally removed and all students  get justice so that each student gets admitted according to  marks.

Soda prepared by poor quality of ice .

Very recently a sensitive news came to notice through both electronic and print medias to the fact that the soda which are being sold at the road side of the city by using very poor quality of ice  which are being used for the fish preservation and   the same suggests that such ice are not allowed for human consumption.While during summer huge quantities of soda are being sold everyday , and large number of people take the same  without knowing the fact about the ice.

I  was astonished and at the same time extremely disappointed when the news came to my notice. I thought about the large number of sellers who are not having minimum values and they  are only after profit. They don't care for the customers interest.

Kolkata municipal  corporation
has started to raid against the sub standard ice and they are destroying the same and at the same time they have admitted that due to poor infrastructure it is not possible for them for a hundred percent drive.

It  is my humble prayer to the appropriate authority to arrange major punishment who have been proved to be guilty and arrange for a hundred percent drive despite limitations and many odds and also to arrange to alert the customers.I however , appreciate the honest efforts of kolkata municipal corporation .

Tribute to Rahul Dev Barman.

Today is the birthday of esteemed music personality of the country ,Rahul Deb Barman. Had he been alive he would have been  Seventy eight years old today. Hewas also popularly known as Pancham. His father was also a legend singer   Sachin Dev Barman.

Pancham was a good singer and musician and lyricist . He  was genuinely a talented musician.  From his childhood he  showed his talent. He could contribute a lot but unfortunately his premature death had caused severe loss of the music world of our country.

Restoration of normalcy at Darjeeling.

The unrest situation is going on at Darjeeling for about a fortnight. The entire hill has been collapsed.  All fields of the areas have been collapsed. The industry , trade and commence , education are all  under suspension .Apat from the above large number of people have been unemployed and due to closure of the market the people are facing from acute shortage of food  and they are on the verge of fasting. Immediately all steps should be taken  to restore peace and negotiations should be started immediately.

Sunil Gavaskar the greatest cricket personality of the country and present position of our national cricket team.

At the very outset I must take the opportunity to convey my heartfelt  regards to Mr.Gavaskar for bringing the truth bravely following the  resignation of Anil Kumble as Chief Coach from our National team.

Had Kumble not resigned  we would have not got any chance to see the ugly appearances of our national players who are being worshipped by the cricket loving people of the country. They consider themselves above God .

The real fact is they have got more than their ability and they don't deserve at all for which they get the audacity to insult a person like Kumble. You have rightly said that they want such a coach to whom they will dictate and he should be a yes man of the captain and senior players .

Time has come when Board should be strict towards the cricketers .It is always found that the players always take upper hand on the Board  The reason of the weak attitude of the   Board .

I don't  Know whether there is any manual  for the   players in regard to discipline and other administrative matters.

Provisions must  be made for punishment of the players if they commit any wrong .similar manual is necessary indicating duties and Powers of the Coach .If the same has not been prepared the same must be prepared urgently.

If necessary all the players may be expelled permanently and may be started from zero.  I will conclude by expressing my warmest regards to esteemed Mr. Gavaskar for using the straight Spine .

Departure of Kumble as coach from our national cricket team.

I was extremely happy to see him as Head coach.Indeed it was one of the finest decisions to appoint him . His appointment was possibly above all controversies. Firstly his cricket carrier was magnificent. He was an out and out gentleman in the field and outside the  field .He is highly educated along with good personality.Initially he was appointed for one year and subsequently the same was extended to the end of the west Indies tour of Indian team.

Yesterday the team started for the west Indies and accordingly Kumble was to accompany but he didn't.It was informed in the evening that he had submitted his resignation.To me yesterday was a black day in the history of our national cricket. It has been noticed from the print media for the last few days that the relation between the captain and Coach has been strained.
Or in other words the Coach must be a yes man of the captain. He will not enjoy any liberty and he Will have no right to give any advice to senior players .This practice has been continuing for a long time.

Earlier a good number of coaches continued for a  long time very  peacefully without entering into cricket.The only exception was possibly Greag chappel. He was not agreeable to act in the said manner and he had to leave.The present practice is a Coach must be a slave of the captain and other senior cricketers.

It would be the best decision  to stop the appointment of coach permanently as the drama may not be enjoyed by all.

Reputed group theatres and learners.

At the very outset I should honestly admit that I have no direct or indirect relation with the theatre. Yet  I respect it and I was well informed about the same in earlier years.

I am totally ignorant about the present time and I will talk few lines about the subject which I noticed from an interview given by a departed noted theatre personality where the gentleman expressed with his deep sympathy that a good number of Young boys and girls join reputed group theatres with a dream to be good actors and actresses.

But unfortunately they were  being utilised with various jobs other than acting. They were allowed to watch the rehearsal year after year. In this way the most valuable time of ten to fifteen years had been wasted . The dream of being actors and actresses had been destroyed. If the same was true it was very unfortunate or in other words the same might be termed as exploitation while the groups are marked as progressive. 

I don't know whether the same practice has been still continuing.

Fast food and young generation.

It has been noticed from various articles written by Physicians and dieticians that first foods are harmful for health while  the same are being liked by  our young generation. They don't like our conventional food items like Bengali special i.e.  Luchi or paratha with various vegetables fry , Halua  ,Muri along with fried items (telebhaja ) , Egg omelette etc. Instead they like fish fry,cutlets, Rolls prepared by eggs, fish , chicken ,Various Chinese preparations etc.

As a result of huge demand in every locality a good number of shops have been opened for the said items.The only positive side of the same is  directly or indirectly sufficient jobs have been created.

Our Mangoes .

We the Bengalis are proud of this most popular fruit . The same are available from  May to September.In our state plenty of Mangoes are produced. Major portion of Mangos are produced in three districts like Manda , Murshidabad and Nadia . Apart from export for domestic consumption various small industries based on mango like jelly , jam , Am satta  etc are grown up.

Presently more advancement have been made like mango cards and mango ice cream , mango sweets etc .  These items have become very popular.

The same has given employment to many people directly or indirectly.  If we  give more  attention the  development of industry based on mango may be developed and many jobs further may be created as the future of the king of fruits are bright and the demand of the same are constantly increasing.

I pray to the appropriate authority to take necessary steps  for further advancement of small industries pertaining to Mangoes.

Historical judgement of kolkata High court about Darjeeling.

Today is the historical day in the history of Darjeeling .The anarchism going on there for the last few days and unbelievable sufferings faced by the  tourists are unimaginable .Under the critical condition the  honourable   High court has declared the Bandh which is going on as  illegal and also  ordered to ensure the security of the tourists.  It  has also been held that Schools and colleges can't be closed                          forcefully. If  the orders are carried out the economy will be saved.The business will  start  again.

Another most important Order has been   given to the Govt of west Bengal to submit the detailed loss of  Govt .properties  and money  value thereof .

Hope this precious orders will work as blessing . Long live our judicial system.

Opening of Bank account and Adhaar Card.

It has been noticed today from the electronic media that the Govt.of India has decided that Adhaar cards are compulsory for opening of new account in Bank  and in respect of existing accounts in Bank  also Adhaar cards are compulsory.The main problem is faced by a large sections of people who have not obtained Adhaar cards both in city , town and villages.

No doubt a large section of people will face immense problems  If they are required to open Bank account. The same is time consuming . Besides in villages and in small towns the infrastructures are weak.

It is my humble prayer to the appropriate Authority kindly to review the case again .

Darjeeling and Bengali emotion.

Darjeeling posssibly is having World wide reputation for its immense beauty .As a result , huge number of tourists from our state along with the different places of foreign countries visit the hills station every year. Darjeeling is a district of our State and the economy of the same is based mainly in Tourism And tea .Unfortunately political unrest has been continuing there for the last four decades.

As a result , the number of tourists have been reduced considerably for which all associate businesses have been facing tremendous recession. It is extremely unfortunate that the movement having been so long the glory of the same has been affected adversely.

The place is highly overcrowded for which the cleanliness has been affected and the water problems are acute.  Besides all these the largest political party wants separation and wants a separate province.

In this connection two major points may be mentioned . Firstly the area of the district is very small and the same doesn't justify for a separate state. Secondly  the largest party  along with their two leaders who are giving leadership seem to be involved in corrupt practice.

The corrupted persons can't have any ideology.  They are only after black mail politics and blood shed of the place. While they have  been given the scope of doing enough work through self   administration Board. They should not be shown any sympathy and should be tackled strictly and in no circumstances should be allowed to be out of our State.

We can't allow in any circumstances to spare Darjeeling. We should also compel them to restore peace permanently.

Highest France award to Soumitra Chatteerjee.

At  the very outset I must  convey my heartiest respectful congratulation to Soumitra Chattapadhyay for achieving such prestigious award after Satyajit Roy for his brilliant contributions in Bengali cinema .We are indeed proud of him.He genuinely deserves the same for the following  reasons.
Firstly  his career as an actor is possibly the longest and the same is about sixty years .He  has. worked in large number of films with a good number of reputed film makers.As  a result , he has got enough scope to experiment and improve his acting skills . Besides  he had the excellent opportunity to come to personal contact of Sishir Kumar  Bhadhuri , the legend theatre personality .I believe he had learned his initial lessons of acting from Bhadhuri.

In  film his debut was in Satyajit Roy's Film.He was the only actor who worked in highest number of films with Satyajit Roy and practically he was his mentor and lastly his talent along with beautiful handsome figure.

Apart from this I strongly believe a good number of actors had excellent talents and continued significantly but unfortunately they were the victims of early death and otherwise they had the ability to win such  awards.

The drinking water problem of Bengal.

Possibly this is my second posting about the same topic. It has been noticed from the print media that  the moment summer starts the crisis of drinking water starts at various places and the residents of those places start movement.

It is a matter of great concern that even after seventy years of independence the problem could not be solved.  It has also been heard that the present govt has been working heard to sort out the problem. Of course It.  can't be denied that the demand of the water is increasing day by day through our the state.. I guess within the last decade few lakhs of flats have been constructed in through out the state.

It is my humble prayer to the appropriate Authority to work on war footing basis and to earmark the deficit areas and act accordingly .A water policy should be framed and if not framed It can be appreciated that  huge fund is necessary for the said work.

It  is suggested that the other  heads may be curtailed temporarily and thus substantial amount may be arranged. The gravity of the situation may be appreciated from  one example. It was seem In the television that in a village where mid day meals are being cooked by the dirty water of a pond.

Present Bengali serials.

This  is my  second posting about the same subject. While  writing my first posting I was optimistic about the improvements of the standard  of the serials while the same are gradually getting deteriorated.
While on the other side the number of listeners are gradually increasing everyday. The same are from eight years to eighty years.

Let me discuss about the qualities of  the same.Moreor less the stories are common.There must be a big Joint family consisting of good number of members including some women.There is no practical Story.Only conspiracy among the members Within the family one member tries to kill others.

There is nothings. to learn from the same.Rather the same are influencing badly  the society These  are rather influencing in a negative way . Only positive contributions are the same have created of job opportunities for young boys and girls.  At  the same time there is no scope to learn acting despite the fact there are extreme competition for getting work .

I believe all sections of people should raise their voices with the demand for making good serials.

End of Anil Kumble Era .

It has come to my notice through print media that the present coach of our national team will not be allowed to continue .Instead the actions are being taken for appointment of next coach. According to a Bengali daily the performance of Kumble should be considered as highly satisfactory.

Under his coaching the team India has played thirteen tests in the country. Out of which ten were victory and one was drawn. Under his coaching the Indian team won the  test series at West Indies and also achieved the number one in test ranking of ICCI .

It is surprising if the said are performance rates  his removal needs justification.    It is better to remain silent about the workings of BCCI.

Outstanding performances of our God and Goddess.

I don't know whether in a single  country the  national star cricketers and film Actors and Actresses are being worshipped like us. To me possibly not . In our country we literally worship them. They are the heroes of us and they are more than God to us .If we can see them once we consider that our birth are meaningful and successful. To us they can't do any misdeeds.
They are the best human beings and carry  highest moral values and are treated as best citizens of the country and their advent only has brighten the face of the country and while addressing  in the various meetings and seminars they speak like Jesus Christ. Now let us discuss their original appearances.

I have come to know from a recent message that Actress Rekha attended Rajya Sabha only 18 days in the last 5 years and got salary of Rs. 65 lakh plus other govt. facilities given to her .While another God Sachin Tendulkar hardly attended 23 days in the last 5 years and got salary of Rs. 59 lakh.

On the other side we the common men if fail to attend our offices even for a single day we may have to face many odds.

It is my humble prayer to the appropriate Authority it is high time to check such misuse of tax payers money.

Actors and sensitivity .

I have neither any direct experience nor any indirect experience with any acting . Hence I have no experience about sensitivity of the actors. If it is so this  rule is not applicable in respect of  so called actor Vikram chatterjee who was responsible for the death of Sonika while he  did not play any human role excepting taking her to the hospital after the accident. While he himself seemed to  have not been much injured Otherwise he would have not been released by the Hospital Authority on that very day.

Now let us discuss the second  part. He neither informed the death news to the family of the victim nor he has met the family of Sonika as yet.

This suggests how human being he is ! I don't know whether police investigation has been also stopped. If it is  so the same will establish an  unprecedented  incident .

I shall pray that similar incidents should not occur in future.Unfortunately if the same occurs the other actors should not follow Vikram and behave as a good human being.

Bloodshed in the elections of college unions.

There are two parts of this topic .The first part deals with whether  students   should take part in politics. Lot of discussions and debates have been made among the scholar persons.  Possibly no decision could be reached. I being a very ordinary person  should have no audacity to comment about this complicated subject.

The second part deals with the bloodshed in the election of college unions. This part possibly demands a thorough discussions and remedial measures about the subject. It has become a regular feature that every year in a good number of colleges at the time of election of office bearers of the union , practically battles are held between different students unions .As a result , large number of students are injured along with the blood shed.

This is purely undesirable and unthinkable and the same leads to even death of many students. No sensible person can support this. The sane has become a part and parcel of our lives. Fortunately a good news from the print media has come to my notice to  the effect that Govt of Bengal is thinking over the matter seriously to stop the blood shed permanently and take some remedial measures.

In this connection it may be mentioned "Better late than never". It has already been sufficiently delayed and endless damages have been occurred.

It is my humble prayer to the appropriate Authority kindly to do the needful to stop the blood shed permanently for which the people of the state will bless the Govt. like anything for this noble task. We are eagerly waiting for the good days.

Fraud Doctors part two.

This is my second posting about the same topic. Considering the utter importance of the subject I have been compelled to write about the same.

Today two important news have come to my notice.
One fraud doctor has been attached to one of the best Nursing homes of Kolkata. Secondly five hundred fraud doctors have been practising in kolkata. Both the incidents are alarming and the same invite many questions.

Firstly without being Doctors  they  used to treat many patients while nobody had any doubt .The person who was attached to the reputed Nursing home How he was appointed  ?Did he not appear any interview Board and his certificates were also not examined ?The most interesting matter the fraud doctor was surrounded by  reputed doctors while no doctor had any doubt.

We are to think whether we are civilised ? We are extremely in crisis of existence.

It is my humble prayer to the appropriate Authority to examine and find out all conspirators and take necessary steps to stop the system permanently.

Senior Citizens and lower rate of interest on fixed deposit .

A At this moment the number of senior citizens are not known to me.I guess the figure may be around fifty crore including men and women Out of which maximum three crore are pension holders including central and  all states.

Firstly there is a wide difference between last pay drawn and the pension amount of an employee. The pension amount worked out about one fourth of the last salary. As a result the pension holders depend largely on the interest of fixed deposits to run their families.

Another section of senior citizens though were in service but not pension holders. Hence they are entirely  dependent on interest.

Another large section of senior citizens were in unorganised sectors and in agricultural sectors where the question of retirement benefits do not arise .

They out of their hard savings make it fixed deposits. It is needles to mention that all the senior citizens pass through financial constraints.

Firstly as a law of nature most of them suffer from  various ailments for which substantial amounts are spent on medical expenses. Apart from that there are family obligations and social obligations are also being met.Most of them are entirely dependent on interest .While the interest rates are being reduced at a regular intervals.

As a result , the monthly income having been reduced at a regular basis . The existence of the majority section of senior citizens are at a stake.

I would therefore , pray to the appropriate Authorities kindly to examine the cases and arrange to ensure a financial security for the  old People so that  they can meet the obligations and  enjoy  little comfort at the fag  end of lives .

Theft of a Bengali story for script writing for making a Bengali film .

I have heard a very  important news to the fact that recently a very good Bengali film has been released where the story writer has been displayed as one of the directors  Nandita Roy while  the actual story had been written by an esteemed  writer Suchitra Bhattacharya who is no more.

If  the news is true the incident is extremely disappointing , dishonest , fraudulent , unethical and the same carries no value and to me this is a crime.  If the allegations prove to be correct it would suggest that our cultural activities are not free from fraud.

Personally I hate such  activities and consider the same as a treachery with lakhs  of spectators.

I would pray to the appropriate Authority to kindly investigate the matter in depth on the top most priority  and if the allegation are proved to be  correct The alleged person should be punished heavily so as to non recur such incident in future.

It is not expected for accepting such misdeeds specially in view of the fact the subject being cultural and of high values. All controversies could have been avoided if no dishonest way had  been adapted and the actual name of the story writer would have been displayed.

Possible crisis of future medical practitioners and medical education in Bengal.

The future of medical practitioners in Bengal seems to be dark.
The people of Bengal are having good number of complaints against the physicians and they had no platform for remedial measures . They were compelled to digest all the allegations. Presently the relationship between the physicians and the patients has deteriorated very fast and the same happened through a long time.

Though there is one medical Association where complaints can be lodged but the number of action taken seems to be very poor .Of late the  Govt of west Bengal has prepared a law to protect the interest of the patients in respect of  private hospitals , Nursing homes and doctors attached to those places.

The patients have various complaintsagainst Doctors like wrong treatment , unnecessary a good number  of tests , unlimited fees which are gradually getting out of capacity of the patients, Misbehaving with the patients and its very difficult  to get them in case of emergency. In case of surgery the fees are claimed at most exorbitant rate etc.

Recently a dangerous trend has been noticed.In many cases the doctors have been physically assaulted. All these may lead to unwillingness for medical studies of the brilliant  students.

If this happens in future there will be an acute shortage of the Doctors against requirements and the same will lead to acute mismanagement in heath sector.

These allegations are not applicable in respect of all doctors. It is my humble prayers to all appropriate Authorities kindly to do the needful to avoid any crisis in future in health sector.

Bikram chatterjee , the master of discourtesy.

We the inhabitants of Kolkata are well familiar with the Bikram episode with the news displayed by both the electric and print media. It was seen that few days back one evening Bikram and his friend famous model actress Sonika attended two Parties where Bikram is  reported  to have consumed plenty of  Alcohol despite the fact he denied initially in this  regard but afterwards he admitted to this fact.

However , after completion of the parties at  the midnight they started  in a car of Bikram and the steering     was in the hands of him.
It was reported  that he was driving  more than hundred km speed.As a result , the car met  a serious accident   and Bikram had  some injuries. He went to a.  Hospital where Sonika was declared dead.

Bikram was however , given few stitches in his head and was released.
Surprisingly despite the fact he was released again he had been there and was again admitted. On being released from the hospital he appeared before the court and surrendered and has been granted bail.

He was also called by the police where he gave contradictory statements. The matter is however , under subjudice   and under police  investigation.

Two most surprising incidents have  been noticed in the episode
Firstly even after the tragic death of Sonika he did not  discharge minimum human responsibility by informing the family members of Sonika and secondly the members of the Tollygunge  film industry have been divided in two groups .One group is trying to establish that Bikram was not responsible in any way  for the said accident and  the second group wants the truth should come to light.

The matter being subjudice  I won't make any comment. I shall however , pray to the appropriate Authority kindly to arrange to bring the truth before us .Further the most  important thing is that it should be ensured that Bikram in no way  uses his influence as a so called celebrity to avoid any punishment.

Lastly it gives me immense pain when I came to know that the so called hero has not even met the helpless parents  till now. From this  behaviour it suggests that the so called hero how human being is !

Introduction of compulsory Bengali teaching in every school of Bengal .

I came to know a revolutionary decision today  of govt of West  Bengal to the effect that Bengali will be taught  from class one in every school of Bengal compulsorily.

The decision is indeed historic and the same should have been taken earlier. However better late than never.As per prevailing system Bengali is not taught in every school in Bengal . As a result , a large number of Bengali students studying in English medium schools are being deprived from their mother language.

They are therefore totally ignorant of the same. In many cases they even neither read nor write Bengali.Moreover they have no minimum idea of Bengali literature. It is unbelievable and surprising that a large section of People are far away from mother language.

I don't know whether such pity practice is in vogue in any other language. Besides it is a big question whether any language can be developed to the expectations without such huge number of readers.

I again repeat that better late than never. Conclude by conveying my heartfelt thanks to the govt of West Bengal for taking such a revolutionary decision.
It will be an added advantage that in many schools the non Bengali students will be able to learn Bengali.As a result , they will get an opportunity to learn an additional language.

Dowry and continuous death of living married women.

This is my second writing about Dowry as the  same has forced me in writing in view of the fact recently a good number of lives have been claimed following the oppression made due to non payment of  of Dowry. Surprisingly the barbaric customs are still continuing even  after the successful end of "Satidaha" system.

The Dowry is not less barbaric than Satidaha system. Widows were to die in living conditions while equally a large number of living wives are   being killed for non payment of Dowry .

Surprisingly both educated and non  educated persons are involved in killing the living married women. I don't know how to stop the devilish system rather the same are increasing day by day .

We have to wait for the advent of the second Raja Ram Mohan Ray .

False physicians.

A dangerous news came to notice few days back by the both printing and  electronic media to the effect that two false physicians have been working in Govt. hospitals for quite sometimes.

It is unbelievable and  unthinkable and against civilisation. It is beyond imagination that fraud persons are examining ailing  people and prescribing medicines. In this connection some basic questions arise.

How they were appointed ? Their certificates were not examined. Did they not appear before the interview Board?

It is surprising that they were able to prove their worthiness. Besides during their So called Woking period nobody did  express any doubt neither from superior Doctors side nor from patient side.

They are at present at the disposal of police. More surprising thing is that these false Doctors could not pass even Higher secondly examination. It has also been stated by  both the medias that a good number of false Doctors have been practising in different places of the state.

We don't know the number of patients died at the hands  of the fraud .It is my humble prayer to the appropriate Authority to get the matter investigated  in depth and stop this  crime permanently.

Driving in a drunk condition .

I am extremely happy with a news which came to my notice through electronic and print media. The news is police will not allow anybody to drive after taking alcohol at night. To me the decision is revolutionary one as  if the decision is executed , number of accidents must be reduced and number Of lives must be Protected .

A person should never drive if he is drunk and the following unwanted situation may arise.

Accident may occur at any moment as the brain may not function for sometimes properly. As a result he may enhance the speed and the same may invite an accident. He may violate traffic rules. He may not use the belt . It is my humble prayer to introduce the decision in through out the state.

It is also my humble prayer that the same should be followed strictly and  no compromise should be made even in slightest way .

It is immaterial whether the person if any has violated rules is an important person or so called celebrity should not be spared in any circumstances and the basic principle should be remembered that all are equal in the eye of law.

My best wishes for the success of the honest efforts.

Private Schools and high fees of their students.

It has come to my notice through Print media and  electronic media that the guardians of a  private schools started movement against the school for introducing abnormal school fees  which
were impossible for acceptance by them.It may be mentioned that these schools have been established for commercial purposes or in other words to earn profit.It was also noticed that on an average Rs. five to ten  thousand were enhanced .They do not consider the capacity of the guardians and they were only after profits. It may be guessed that after meeting all expenses huge amount remain as surplus.

It is the main question to the  appropriate authority how long the guardians will be be allowed to be exploited  ?  It is my humble request to the appropriate authority to examine in depth the role played by the private schools and their average performances if the accounts of the schools are audited  and to  study few  reports and prepare a guideline in regard to fixation of tuition fees by the schools keeping in view of covering all interests of the students.

Wheather death sentence should be stopped ?

At the very outset I should honestly admit that I am too small  to discuss  about this important subject. In the mean time a lot of  discussions have been made. More discussions  should be be made among  all the leaders of all sections of people.

However , as a very very common person I want to say few lines about this important subject. Life  death is the last and extreme punishment for committing crime.

Prior to this, imprisonment and life time imprisonment are in vough.  I personally want life sentence to be continued in view of the fact the same is applicable for only highest level of  crimes. If the same is banned then a person after committing highest level of crime  will be given life time imprisonment in stead of life sentence.

It suggests that even after committing the highest level of crime  one person will be under punished. Thus a criminal after suffering a life imprisonment for about fifteen years he will be free and come out of jail. There is no guarantee that he will not commit any crime again and may claim the life one and more.

Hence before taking any final decision in this regard an in depth study along with long  discussions should be  conducted to  avoid any future  complications.

Versatile Manna Dey.

Today is the birthday of the great Singer Manna Dey .At the very outset I must convey my heartfelt tribute to the sacred memory of this famous singer of our country.

I have no capacity to evaluate the contributions made by this great singer.  Yet as a very  common viewer I want to say few lines about this great singer.
We are fortunate that during our lifetime we could see a large number of reputed Bengalis of different fields. Manna Dey was one of them. He was truly a genius and versatile. He had expertise in all branches of Bengali songs.He had a rich heritage. Legend Krishna Chandra Dey was his uncle and Guru also. Manna Dey earned huge reputation for his magnificent contributions for Hindi songs also.

As regards Bengali Songs his contributions can't be measured in view of the fact the same was so wide.

I conclude by paying my heartfelt warmest regards to one of the greatest music personalities of the country.

Road accident in kolkata at midnight.

We came to know  from both the electronic  media and print media that at the midnight if 29th April on  kolkata road a serious car accident occurred which claimed one life.It has been reported that  at the midnight one actor of Bengali Television and Bengali film while driving  his own car accompanied with a model Actress was driving the car more than a speed of  hundred kilometres and suddenly he lost control and collided with a divider and jumped on the food path and were arrested inside the car after being seriously injured.

Some local people watched the same and cane forward to rescue them and also had taken them to hospital and the Actress was declared dead.

The premature death of a promising girl can't be accepted in any circumstances. The Actor is however, under medical treatment and his condition is stable. I pray for his speedy recovery. The entire matter is under investigation of the police department.The maternal uncle of the actress has lodged a complaint against the actor at the Tollygunge Police Station.

As a very common man some questions have raised in my mind. Firstly the circumstances under which the car was running at midnight ?
The time being midnight and the roads were free but the same does not permit to drive at a speed of hundred km per hour .  Even if the same was allowed what precautions had been taken ?

Everything will come to light and it is my humble prayer to the appropriate Authority kindly to take appropriate steps if any deviations are proved while driving so as to avoid such incident in future.

I pay my tribute to the sacred memory of the model Actress.

Bahurupi Sixty nine years old theatre group.

Bahurupi ,one of most important group theatres  was formed on 1st May 1948. The group tomorrow will celebrate its sixty ninth anniversary. The same was formed under the leadership of two reputed theater personalities namely Maharshi Manoranjan Bhattacharya  and Sambhu Mitra.

The formation of Bahurupi was a major significant incident in the History of Bengali theater. During the initial days the group had to work with so many constraints. Firstly just few months back our country was divided and a new country was formed namely Pakistan.Our Bengal was also divided and the eastern part was included in Pakistan and the same was known as East Pakistan.

Following this partition the  socio economic condition of our Bengal part  was almost collapsed. A large number of families came to our Bengal as refugees. As a result extreme food Crisis and their shelter problems arose. Truly the socio economic conditions almost collapsed.

It may therefore be  appreciated that they had to face an extremely adverse situation and at the same time it is needless to mention that the extent of struggle they had to do.They faced all the odds only for staging good theatre .

Besides at that time the number of halls in kolkata were negligible in number and it was Extremely difficult to get a hall.Yet the journey was started seventy years ago and the same has been continuing .

During the long journey a good number of Actors and Actresses joined Bahurupi and left also. However Actors like Kumar Roy  , Gangapada Basu , Amar Ganguly , Kali Prosad Ghosh , Debotosh Ghosh  , Tripti Mitra etc. They produced Raktakarabi in 1954 directed by Sambhu Mitra  was a milestone in Indian theatre. Besides they produced Raja , Bisharjan , Dakghar , Char Adhyay , Ghare baire  , Raja owadipaus  etc.

During their long journey they staged endless number of theatres  .Credit must be given for their successful long journey .

The most tragic part of the group happened in 1978  when Sambhu Mitra was forced to  leave  the group though the details behind the story was subsequently written by a member of the group .The person  who was the founder of the group  was the victim due to  conspiracy.

However , Sambhu Mitra  after leaving the group occasionally took part in theatre from other platforms . He was awarded  the very prestigious magdayday award and also he   was awarded PadmaBibhushan by the Govt.of India and he is considered to be the no.1 theatre personality by the majority of theatre loving people after Shishir Kumar.

However despite all misdeeds the group is still alive.

Appeal for a Modern hospital in Kolkata only for the senior citizens.

Today A very important as well as good news came to my notice from a Bengali daily that a  modern hospital of corporate standard is going to be constructed for the poor and the common people at the campus of P.G.Hospital.

The proposal deserves high appreciation. It is a dream to the common people and no doubt it is a very ideal wish for them. I pray the same t obe completed smoothly  and for an early commencement.

In this connection I want to give a proposal to the Govt.of west Bengal for kind consideration. It may kindly be appreciated that in kolkata and it's surrounding township within a fifty  KM radius huge number of senior citizens live and I guess the half of the population are Senior citizens both male and female.

It is known that  aged people suffer more from different ailments. While there is no adequate arrangements  for medical treatment. Besides a large section can not afford for their treatment.

Under the circumstances it is my humble prayer to the Govt. Of west Bengal kindly to consider to establish a big hospital with modern all facilities for the senior citizens only.

If the same is executed crores of senior citizens will be benefited and will be blessed.

Twenty fifth years of death of Satyajit Ray.

Twenty five years ago  great Satyajit Ray departed.
He was so great like a Himalaya while I am so so small that I should never have any capacity to write about him. He was stalwart in three fields namely painter , film maker , and writer .The scholar persons could only throw any light about his supremacy in the particular area. I have no direct or indirect relation in the said areas . Still I am writing about him as an emotion and mark of respect.

During my lifetime a large number of famous Bengali personalities of different fields worked like painting , writing , science , poems , filmmaking ,Acting etc.

But no one possibly represented with equal strength from three fields. However , to me possibly he earned his highest reputation as film maker and awarded the most prestigious Oscar award.

Personally I am fortunate to watch his most of the films and also to see him from a very close distance  while he was directing at an outdoor shooting ( Nayak ).

I have no ability to discuss about his films .I can only say like many others that I also started to watch his work from his first film pather panchali.

We used to wait throughout the year for release of one film directed by him as on an average he used to make one film yearly.

As regards his writings I may say his magnificent creation of Feluda which has  given me immense pleasure . Apart from this I may mention his style  of writing to me is unprecedented and the same appeared to me as if he was himself telling the stories. Indeed it is a rare experience.

Today I express my heartfelt tribute to the sacred memory of one of the greatest sons of Bengal. I conclude for being fortunate to see this legendary personality of all times.

Almost 25 crore House Wives work through out the day without any Remuneration !

In our country  we don't know about the exact number of house wives. The present population of our country is about one hundred and twenty crore. If on an average a family consists of four members then total families and number of house wives works out to thirty crore . Out of thirty crore house wives if it is presumed five  crore are engaged in different works there will be twenty five crore of house wives.

These huge number of  house wives are divided in   both city-town and villages.
The house wives  of both villages and township - all work from early mornings to late night. Those who live in villages apart from family work they also work in the fields pertaining  to Agricultural works.

Those who live in city they also perform outside work like they take their children to schools  , they go to Bank       market  and sometimes if necessary visit Doctors .

From the above it would be evident that twenty five crore of people on average work from seventeen hours to eighteen hours without any remuneration.

It is unbelievable and most disappointing that such huge number of house wives work through out the day and deploy their physical and mental strength for the cause of their families. In return they don't get any remuneration.

In villages most of the housewives apart from their family work engage themselves in cultivation work as well and thus produce vegetables , fruits etc.

From the above it can be said that this huge manpower creates wealth and also render valuable services. But unfortunately in no case their contributions are recognised.

If it is presumed on an average their Monthly salary should be Rs.10,000 ,  then the total income would be 25,00,00,000 * Rs.10,000 * 12 months .

If I am not wrong the same should be the income of huge number of people and the same would have been circulated in the market and thus our national economy possibly would have been benefitted like anything.

It is my question and I want to know whether their contributions should be taken into consideration while calculating our GDP.Incidentally I am not a student of Economics. It has just come to my mind and I want to know to this effect .

Imposing of the title "Superstar" to an ordinary actor .

Recently In a Bengali Reality Show while performing  a programme an artist commented on one  senior Actor of present Bengali  film as a superstar and compared him with Amitabh Bacchan. Also a good number of people hold the similar view.

The Actor is yet to be a Senior Sitizen . In our Bengali film there is a custom for self marking as Super star. If my memory does not betray one hero declared himself as Super star.The entire matter is very funny and the same happens only in our Bengali film Industry .  The incident indeed is interesting. To me during our life time only one Actor of Bengali film enjoyed the image of super star during thirty years of his career. He enjoyed unprecedented popul arity and unbelievable devotion to his work.
The name of the Artist is "Uttamkumar".In all aspects he was genuinely a Superstar. His appearance , personality , acting , mannerism etc. automatically turned him to a Superstar.Besides Him to me no actor earned so popularity .

Prior to Uttam Kumar possibly Durgadas Banerjee and Pramatesh Barua were Super stars during their time which is long back.

Presently   the actor whom we want to mark as Superstar does not deserve at all due to the following reasons. Firstly His appearance . Secondly the acting is stereo type and has no variation. Thirdly Pronunciation is not at all good etc. These are all deficiencies for being a Superstar.  He worked in most of the films which were of very poor standard  . The comparison with Amitabh Bachhan is either tragedy or comedy !

THIS IS HOWEVER,  MY PERSONAL OPINION .

Senior Citizens of the country and their acute problems.

A person who attains the age of sixty years is treated as a senior citizen.From a recent  account it was noticed that the number of central govt.employees are fifty five lakhs while the central. Govt. Pensioners are  fifty eight lakhs.From the above it would be evident that there is a huge number of senior citizens present in our country.

Let us See the position of Senior citizens. Most of them suffer from various diseases and very frequently they need to go to doctors and to get various pathological tests. Apart from physical sufferings they are to incur huge amount of expenditure on account of medical ground .Secondly at present most of the families being very small the senior citizens do not get any physical support in case of illness . As a result ,a large section is required to do everything. In most of the cases they are to discharge all duties of Bank.

Those who are pension holders are liable to meet all the formalities as and when required. Apart from these most of them are required  to deposit electric bills and Municipality tax bills etc.

Another most of the critical area is payment of income tax.Lot of works are being done for the payment of income tax . Apart from these , endless jobs are being done.

From the above it will be appreciated that the major section of the senior citizens of the country have to discharge a lot of responsibilities within family and outside the family despite physical and mental weakness. Besides those who are pension holders contribute to their families financially and a large number of retired persons though are not pension holders but earn
substantially on account of interest on Fixed deposit etc and they also contribute to their families and in no way a large  section of the senior citizens are the liabilities of their families.

Cricket and money.

Cricket is possibly game of  rich people. In the beginning of cricket most of the players came from Royal families.It is impossible for a poor family to bear such huge expenses . Let us discuss the present position of the cricket.

Our cricket is now a professional game. BCCI or Bharatiya  Cricket Control Board is the top most body of the cricket administration and the same is said to be the richest Board  of the world.

Presently both domestic and national  cricketers earn huge . At the same time it should be mentioned that presently the cricketers of both categories mean those who play domestic cricket and in National team face tremendous competition . They are required to  play constantly in good form. It is noticed from the media that those who play in our national team earn huge .If any player can play at least five years he can earn few  crores. Besides , those who can continue long carrier they can earn an unbelievable amount.

Besides the Bcci  has introduced a historic decision. They have introduced monthly pension for all former cricketers both those who played in national team and domestic games.

It should be clearly mentioned that it is a great pleasure that cricketers earn a lot and  Bcci  is having such handsome fund . In this connection it may also be mentioned that other sports bodies and Athalelatics are financially very  poor.

It is my humble prayer to the appropriate  authorities kindly to consider whether our Board can give some financial assistance to some sports bodies those who require financial aid urgently.

Liberty of choosing of own subjects.

The topic seems to be an unusual one but the hard reality justifies the topic. I personally experienced that in most of the cases the students don't enjoy in choosing their own favourite subjects. Instead their parents take the decision on behalf of their children and the children are compelled to accept the same. Thus they carry out the choices or ambitions of their parents and the same results  in  unwilling carrier.

Let  us promise that  we
give these minimum freedom in building their carrier. However , it is my humble request to all the parents kindly to allow their children to select their subjects according to their own choice and thus to ensure that they are not deprived from their own favourite subjects.

Plastic Eggs.

For the last few days there have been lots of discussions in  both Electronic media and print media about the harm of plastic eggs . People of all
Categories like rich to poor were panic stricken in  view of the fact huge section of People take eggs  regularly.

Besides a large number of people who are sick and are getting medical treatment in various  Govt. hospitals , private hospitals are being served eggs. Besides the price of eggs being comparatively cheaper the same are taken irrespective of all casts and creed and rich and poor.

However, just now the good news has been announced
by the Chief minister of west Bengal and she has announced that proper care will be taken at the import of eggs from my other state .

At this all section of people have sighed a sigh of relief . She has also assured to take poultry eggs without any fear and hesitation.

Our circus.

Our circus was our most popular item from our childhood and we eagerly waited for the winter and the same was the season for circus .In kolkata park circus ground was famous for circus .In every winter one or two circus parties performed. During winter we used to visit once and the Same had attracted us like anything.

One of the attractions were the performance of the animal's performance. Unfortunately the participations of animal have been banned. We therefore,have lost all interest about the same.

The circus parties are  in deep Crisis and almost on the way of abolition and I shall not forget the golden memories of a brilliant circus at park circus ground which a circus party performed from Russia.

We are still optimistic and believe that circus will return with previous glory.

Change of name of West Bengal.

Whether West Bengal should be named as Bangla  for Bengali language .In English it is proposed as Bengal and in Hindi the same is proposed as Bangal.

There have been lot of discussions about the change of name  of West   Bengal as Bangla , Bengal and Bangal. The said proposal has been sent to Delhi .  My personal opinion is  East Bengal has become a separate state.
Hence change of name is justified. Besides, very important thing is the name of the the State being West Bengal which suggests the  same is a part of Bengal.

After independence , the state should not carry indication of any piecemeal. Now our state should be regarded as a complete independent state and accordingly the name   should be  changed at the earliest.It should be kept in mind the name West Bengal proves the existence of East Bengal while there is no existence of the same as the same has become a separate state.

Today the world theatre day .

At the very outset I must honestly admit that I have no relation with theatre directly or indirectly .Yet I have a weakness  about the  much esteemed subject in view of the fact that during my life time a good number of theater personalities had been actively working and some are working presently also. I am writing this just as an ignorant common man.

Some scholar persons say that the production of  "Raktakarabi" directed by Sambhu Mitra had brought a new dimension of Bengali theatre and the same had been produced sixty two years ago and since then lot of theatres have been produced and acted by reputed Actors and Actresses.

In view of the above where we stand today in the light of world  theatre day especially our Bengali theatre.

I  know it is very big subject even then if anyone writes Many theatre loving people will be benefited like me.

Railway station Master drunk.

The electronic media  just now has displayed an  Important news
and unbelievable news  to the fact that the station master  of South Dinajpur has been lying on the bed being drunk and his body movement suggests that he is not feeling well. It is big question what is going to be held  ?

The other day we discussed about a similar incident about a school teacher. It is unbelievable and surprising that a responsible officer of Railway has openly violated the office discipline despite the fact that the number of such officer may be negligible in number yet such undesirable incidents are happening and I am sure the respective administration will take steps as per rule so  as to ensure not to recur such incident in future.

Physical assault of teachers by the students.

This is my second topic about malpractices applied in the examination hall. Within a short gap the second topic on the same subject I have been compelled to write considering the gravity of the situation. The news has been just displayed by a channel of the electronic media to the effect that the candidates of H.S.examination started mass copying from  the very beginning and the teachers protested and as a result the Students started beating the teachers including the female teacher and the male teacher has been seriously injured and is under medical treatment.

Question of copying is secondary affair. The primary question is they have physically assaulted their teachers including female teacher. The first and foremost question whether the culprits should be treated as students. This question must be settled first and thereafter the matter of copying may be settled. Maharaj Trailakkya Chakraborty the great revolutionary

Maharaj TraiIakkya Chakraborty I met him twice with my parents while I was a student of lower classes and as a law of nature I could not understand his political and Social status.After being  adult I came to know about him in details and was tremendous  upset that despite meeting him on two occasions I could not capitalise the meetings with such s historic person.

Let me try to draw a simple outline about him.His name is Maharaj  Trailakkya  Narayan Chakraborty. Incidentally he is from the same place of my maternal uncle's family presently at Bangladesh and as a result he was very close to my maternal uncle's family.

Maharaj  at his very tender age was involved with revolutionary activities with the revolutionary party Anushilan Samiti . He had therefore, no formal education but educated himself with great efforts. Ultimately by dint   of organisational ability and leadership qualities he became a leader of his organisation.

He had to go underground many times and had to move many times in disguise to avoid getting arrested in the hands of British police.Despite the fact he had to to suffer imprisonment in different jails and in different spells and the total period of imprisonment worked out to thirty years and he had written an important book jail e  named  thrish bachar. This was an important document of our freedom movement. Unfortunately the book is out of print and the same is not available in the market. After partition  Maharaj stated in the other part of Bengal and remained there throughout his life. In 1971 he came to Delhi at the invitation of the then prime minister Mrs.Indira Gandhi and attended a party and unfortunately afterwards he breathed his last and thus was ended a historic and noble journey.

I pay my tribute to the sacred memory of the heroic and pride son of the motherland.

Attack on Doctors.

Almost regularly the Doctors of both Govt Hospitals and private Hospitals are being attacked by the patient parties due to the death of their family members. In such cases it is obvious they will be angry with the  Doctors. If the complaint is genuine the  same maybe informed to the newly formed Regularly commission in respect of private hospitals.

If  the Doctors are regularly beaten the same will be having adverse effects on the society. Hence no question to be asked.

There are sufficient reasons for the patient parties of  being excited but physical assault on the Doctors will result in the collapse of the system.

We may watch the performance of the Regularity commission.

Ballot or EVM Machine.

Presently in our country  EVM system are in vogue  for casting votes and the same has  been introduced long back leaving aside Ballot papers.

Of late a demand has  been raised  from a corner to return to the old system means Ballot paper. While we have accepted modern technology  why we shall return to the old manual system leaving aside modern technology?
Then we may return to the cart leaving aside Motor car .The attitude suggests our anti science attitude.

If we compromise with the old system then it's sure we will gradually be proceedings to be a backward state.

Proposed construction of flats for the Ministers in West Bengal.

From the electronic media I came to know this afternoon an important news that some flats will be  constructed for the ministers by the PWD department. If the news is  genuine the same deserves appreciation. The same should have have been much earlier .However , better late than never . Many ministers reside at distant places for which it takes much time for them  to come to Kolkata.  The most important thing is that since independence no official accommodation for the chief Minister has been constructed.

Previously it was seen that in the absence of Govt accommodation one Chief minister resided for a pretty long time at a quarter  of Raj Bhawan and subsequently shifted to Bidhan nagar while Tripura is a small state and thirty years ago I saw the Govt Bungalow for the Chief Minister at Agartala.

Besides if all the ministers reside  at the same place it is very good for coordination . The Chief Minister may require one or more Minister at any time and if they reside in Govt. accommodation the C.M. may get them whenever they are needed .

In case they are from distance places this advantage cannot be availed of.

Our Chief Ministers.

Since independence possibly we have got eight Chief ministers namely Dr Prafulla Chandra Ghosh was the first Chef Minister of West Bengal after independence. Dr.Ghosh was a brilliant student of Science and was an educationist  .He was in the office for a short period .He was a bachelor.

Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy
took oath in 1948 and he was our second Chief minister .He was the most colourful character. He was an exceptionally brilliant person. He was a world famous physician and surprisingly was both from medicine and Surgery and the same is rarely found. There are plenty of stories about his treatment. He did lot of miracles. Even when he was the chief minister he used to treat patients at his residence in the morning. He took charge at a very crucial time i.e. just after partition and large number of refugees came from East Bengal and the same created Socio-economic problems and resulted tremendous food Crisis.
He successfully implemented various projects like State transport corporation,Haringhata milk project ,  Durgapur Steel  projects etc. He  developed two cities Dugapur and Kalyani and two towns Habra and Ashoknagar. Ashoknagar was for refugees only. About ten thousand two-rooms houses were constructed and the same were handed over to the refugees  at a nominal Price. This great man was also  unmarried and died on 1St  July 1962 and incidentally that day was his birthday.

Prafulla Chandra Sen was our third Chief minister. During his tenure there was tremendous food crisis .Prafulla Chandra was a freedom fighter .He was also a bachelor and left office in 1967.

Ajoy  Mukherjee was our fourth  Chief minister .He was a freedom fighter and was from Midnapore.

Sidharta Sankar Roy was our fifth chief minister. He was a Barrister and grand son of Desha bandhu Chitta Ranjan Das.

Jyoti Bose was our sixth Chief minister .He was also a Barrister but non practising . He continued for a maximum period more than two decades.

Buddhadeb Bhattacharya was our seventh Chief minister.

Mamata Banerjee is our eighth chief minister and first woman Chief minister.She is at present in office.

Origin of Kabiraji cutlet .

Today  I have come to know the history of origin of kabiraji cutlet. Indeed the history being so interesting I have become very eager to share the same with the Respected viewers.

Rabindra Nath Tagore did not like cutlet covered with the dust of buiscuits.
On hearing the same the Head cook of Basanta cabin made a challenge to prepare cutlet in such a way that the poet would agree to accept the same.

He accordingly started experiments and finally  prepared the same with small fry from the liquid of eggs in stead of dust of biscuits and placed the same before the poet and he agreed to take the same.

Thus the cutlet was named " Kabi Raji " cutlet.

Barbaric behaviour of a public representative.

I could not believe my eyes to a very important news published  in a Bengal daily  that a people representative has bitten a staff of Air India ruthlessly by his shoes.

This news made me Speechless and the same is unprecedented against civilisation ,against all ethics , against all values and against  all discipline.

It is  high time we should think over the matter. We may  think  about the  present character of our society .Can we claim that we are civilised ? If it is the behaviour of a people representative then  what will be the role of common people? What they will learn?

It is my question whether we are advancing on the front side or gradually we are on the backward side ?

World poetry day.

At the very outset I must honestly admit that I am neither a student of Bengali literature nor  knowledgeable of the same. Yet I am eager to know in regard to poetry where we stand in view of the fact a large number of Poets were born in Bengal.

It is fact that all of them had departed. Presently  the poets  deal with the poems named  Adhunik  kabita. The concept of the same was introduced long back. Personally I feel that the same is very difficult to understand for which the number of readers are possibly  less.

Presently the  number of  reputed poets are not much.
I am eager to  know our position about the poems. It may be mentioned that the land of Bengal is very  fertile for poets. I don't know whether in one country such huge number of poets were born.

We got from Michael Madhusudan Datta to Jay Goswami. Despite the fact that I am ignorant about poems yet a good number of young persons have been practising the same.

Its my humble prayer to the  contemporary poets kindly to write in a bit simple  way so that the  readers can understand  and the number of readers can increase.

I don't know exactly the progress of poetries in other countries and comparison to that our position on World Poetry day 21st March.

Jhargram and Asansol will be termed as districts.

It appears from the Bengali daily news papers today a very important news to the effect that Jhargram and  Asansol will be turned into districts very shortly. This is very important and good news for the people of both places.
The people will enjoy immense advantages. They  had to go so long far off to the district Head quartets which involved much time and expenses and if the works involved three or four days time resulting in lots of harassments .

After getting the new status the development work will be faster. The connection and co ordination between the different offices of the respective districts will be much closer. Previously each office had to work for a much bigger area while the same presently will involve much lesser area for which people will be getting very good services.

Besides the development work will also be completed within a short time. I congratulate the people of both the places and wish grand success of the newly born districts .

Donations for the brilliant students.

Every Year after the declaration of results of Madhyamik and H.S. examinations a large number of brilliant students appeal for financial help for their further studies in    Engineering and Medical along with General Studies. I have noticed that the Chief ministers provide assistance to a good number of poor  students  from the Chief ministers  relief fund. It should be appreciated that it is absolutely impossible for the chief minister to provide assistance to a large number of students from  that fund only .

Besides , the fund  is also  being utilised many purposes.

It is my humble prayer to
all rich people irrespective  of cast cart and creed to donate liberally to chief minister's fund so as to enable the Chief Minister to provide assistance to all  poor students
as per their requirements to fulfill  their dreams.

I sincerely  hope all rich people may respond and thus discharge social  responsibility.

Country leaker and tragic death.

 

Very unfortunately a large section of poor people most of them possibly are BPL card holders are addicted to leaker to a maximum extent. They being so poor  are after the  lowest quality of country leaker and the same possibly the cheapest.

In most of the cases such leakers are prepared in an  illegal way and the manufacturers and traders have no licence. The  poor people knowingly or unknowingly visit the above places to satisfy their addiction .

Firstly the same are tremendous harmful for the health and as a result a large section of this class die early. Those who can avoid death suffer from various diseases. The most tragedy is that  every year a large number of such people die   instantly for the same being poisonous. Their families face tremendous crisis after the death of the victims.
The same is a social curse.

I have seen from my own experience that in my locality most of the Rickshaw pullers start consuming this leaker from early morning. It is my humble prayer to the appropriate authority kindly to declare a war against the illegal dealers.

A drunk Head Master on the road !

Very recently one surprising news came to my notice from a daily newspaper. One Head Master of  a primarily school was found  drunk and was lying on the road and using in parliamentary words. The very incident suggests many things , fall of our values , fall of our morality, fall of our ethics ,  fall of our minimum taste , fall of our principle , fall of our minimum shyness and fall of our tradition.

In our society once the teachers were regarded as the most respectful persons. During my school days our teachers were God  to us and We were proud of them. I believe this is not  a stray case . The overall images of the teachers have fallen like anything. Many of the teachers unfortunately misfit for this noble profession.

I personally feel and doubt whether we are civilised or not .This is a big question.

Theft of kids from Hospital and Nursing Homes.

Very recently the news which has touched the basic structure of our society , our existence  , our values and our civilisation about theft of Kids from hospitals and Nursing homes and the most surprising thing is that these criminal acts are going on for a long time .

The operations are conducted by a racket and the kids are being sold in foreign countries at a high price.

The most surprising thing is  that some doctors are involved in this criminal act. After the same can we claim that we are civilised?

Requirement of some new colleges in Kolkata.

Every year after  declaration of the H.S.examination result a hue and cry starts for getting  admission in colleges but the number of Colleges is in  Kolkata and surrounding are much lesser against the requirement . As a result ,  the the guardians and students face a lot of harrusments for getting an an admission in any college. Presently  Kolkata and  surroundings are  having around  one hundred and fifty colleges  which seems to be very much inadiiquate considering the number of students.

As a result , most of the students are being deprived from their choiceable college and subjects.
I don't know whether any study has been made about the requirement of seats and availability of seats. Besides , the number of students are being increased every year.

To fill up the shortage of actual number of seats  may be determined and the exact number of colleges are required. Accordingly arrangements may be made to establish new colleges. It will help the students a lot .

Double decker bus and Kolkata .

I think double decker bus was one of the most  attractions of  our city and the same used to ply in most of the routes and the same were able to carry more passengers though standing was not allowed in the upper portion .

For many unknown reasons  the double decker bus had been withdrawn .I don't know about the present fate of the then buses.

I  would request to the appropriate authority kindly to introduce double decker at least in few routes and I think the same will be accepted to the maximum extent by the present generation.

Killing and physical torture on women.

Killing and physical torture
on women are still going on for Dowry.The incidents are regularly published in daily Bengali news papers. I don't how know how long the torture will continue . In many cases instead of physical torture mental torture are done. The most surprising thing is that the families which oppress are well educated.

I believe we want immediately another VidyaSagar mahasay !

Priya Ranjan Das Munshi , Undeclared dead .

I want to draw an outline of  Priya Ranjan Das Munshi out and out  as a person and not as a politician. He was an excellent speaker. His voice , knowledge of Bengali ,  Knowing the techniques of voice modulation and knowledge of different subjects turned him into an outstanding speaker. He was a good parliamentarian. He was a  very good student of Bengali literature and also used to write regularly and had written a novel  in Bengali named "Take over" on the nationalisation of collieries. He himself possibly published a magazine named "Dakkhini   Barta". Besides he was closely associated with the Indian football  administration.

Such a dynamic personality having multiple activities has been alive for some years without any brain functioning.
It is a great  tragedy  not only for him but also of the country in view of the fact that  he was  extremely active in different creative fields.

Bengali's Puja .

Bengali'  throughout the year worship a good number of pujas like Durgapuja , Kali puja, Laxmi puja , Kartik puja , Ganesh puja , Swaraswai puja , Annapurna puja ,Bashanti Puja , Biswakarma puja , Manasja puja and  Jagaddhatri Puja etc.

It would be evident that number of pujas  are held throughout the year out of which few are domestic like Manasha ,  Kartik , Laxmi , Basanti Annapurna and Swarasati etc. The rest are public or Baroari and the same take a very very vital role of our economy as few thousand crores are spent and as a result the fate of many industries and trade depend on the above pujad.

If  the public pujas are stopped , our economy will be collapsed and many families will be  at stake as a large section of people are directly or indirectly dependent on these Pujas.

It can't be denied that the poor people suffer significantly for such large number of pujas for giving subscription etc.
They have to sacrifice for the greater interest of   the state and of the  Society.

Kolkata , the cheapest city.

It is very often said that Kolkata is the cheapest city. It can not be denied that the city where people of all financial classes starting from rich to poor  live .  Poor section may be the largest . I may give some examples of  Kolkata being the cheapest city. Let us start from breakfasts to dinner. As an example one  poor family consists of  four members .They may purchase one pound of bread valuing Rs.20. In Lunch  Rice, Dal ,Boiled potato etc cost approximately Rs. 50 and the same as dinner. The total cost will be around Rs.120.

As Regards education , free  school is available. For health Govt hospitals are there where free medical treatment are available. From the above it would be evident that a family of four members can manage by six to seven thousand.

Poor Bengali seems to be over burdened with excess festivals.

  I personally feel that Bengali people are over burdened with festivals. Apart from good number of pujas there are number of festivals  .To me these are burdens for the lower middle class families and poor families like Bhaifota,  jamai Shasti , Shibratri  , Rash purnima, Jhulan purnima, Dol purnima , Janmastashtami ,poush  Sankrati, Ranna pujo etc.

I am sure so many festivals give immense problems to the lower middle class and poor families. I had the opportunity to see the financial crisis faced by the ordinary families like jamai shasti which is a very expensive occasion. Apart from these Birthday of grand sons and grand daughters ,rice eating ceremony . Those who are Brahmin "Paite" is compulsory for them.At present time marriage anniversary celebration has become a convention. I have mentioned only a few.
Apart from these many festivals are left.

It is needless to mention that the extent of financial taxation are imposed on   lakhs of families.

Now a big question who is to bell the cat?

Of course this is purely my personal opinion considering the financial condition of the lakhs  of poor and lower middle class families.It may so happen that they do not want any change.

Today eighty eighth birthday of All India Radio.

Those who were born after 1980 they are perhaps  not aware of Radio. In 1975 Television came for domestic use yet the same we're in very limited families and  from 1980 it started entering in middle  class and upper middle class families widely. By this time Radios had   been given fair well . we the senior citizens are having  sweet  memories  about Akash Bani. We used to listen to  many Programmes since our childhood. like Galpa Dadur Ashar.

On Sunday possibly Respected Indira Devi used to conduct  named "Chhotoder Ashar". There was a famous programme on Sunday morning named  Sangeet Sikhar  Ashar conducted by Pankaj Kumar Mallik , Anurodher Ashar , Bengali theatre ,  Rabindra Sangeet and Adhunik songs,Bengal news from Delhi and Kolkata and Dhara bibarani of important football and cricket matches etc were also broadcasted .

Our childhood to young age Radio took the most vital role .We are therefore have become nostalgic. Fortunately Radio  is still used in many villages. Long live Radio!

Kolkata and it's speciality .

  Possibly Kolkata is the only city which has plenty number of critics and equally fans . The critics are vocals about the roads,  beautification , crowded transport , Scarcity of Taxi from Howrah and Sealdaha stations and from Kolkata Air port. Many of the above grievances have been solved.

Firstly roads have been repaired to a large extent and the taxi problems too have been solved to a large extent. The river Ganges has been given a new appearance. It can't be denied that this city is for all religion's people  irrespective of rich middle class poor  etc.

I don't know whether such large number of public vehicles ply in any other city of the country. Two types of educational institutions exist here ine for rich and the other for  middle class and low middle class and poor people. There are number of Hotels and Restaurants for the elite section and for the poor people there are number of street Hotels where a large number of common people take their lunch.

Two medical system are in existence. For the common people Govt. hospitals and for the others private hospitals and Nursing homes are there. For the common people ordinary market along with Footpath are available and for the rest there is an option of Shopping malls as well.

Another very very special features of the city is during Durgapuja the huge gathering to the puja pandals and the same continues about a week . I don't whether any such huge gathering is found for a week for any occasion. It should be further mentioned Kolkata has been changed to a large extent especially for the lighting arrangements and the parks have been given completely new shape and appearance. Newly built Rajarhat and Newton look like foreign cities.

Despite various weakness of the city we love Kolkata as our hot favourite city.

Bengali in trade and business .

Once Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy constantly advised Bengalis to be involved with business. He himself was the founder of Bengal chemical. Presently a large number of Bengalis have been engaged in Business and their honest labour and sincerity is highly appreciable . In every locality it will be noticed that they have opened medicine shops ,grocery shops along with stationery Sweets and garments etc. I salute them for their enthusiasm and struggle.

They are self dependent and in most of the cases they are maintaining their own families. It may be mentioned that the number of such business men are huge.  I salute them for solving their own unemployment problem.

Apart from them a large section of Bengali young men are engaged in small manufacturing business. A large section are engaged in supply business. Besides a big number are engaged in construction and development work etc.

Besides these there  are so many business where the young Benglis are engaged. I believe if Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy had  been alive he would have been the happiest person for execution of his dream.

It is the fact that no Bengali is possibly engaged in big manufacturing industry but it can't be denied that a large section of Bengali are engaged in big trade like garments and ornaments etc.
