Our present medical system in Bengal

Unfortunately we have been experiencing a tremendous disappointments in our medical treatment system in Bengali and specifically in kolkata and  surroundings
Firstly fraud doctors.

We came to know the news first from the media. The same has jarked our civilization values culture and our dependence upon the society system and governance . We have been cheated by the fraud doctors days after days . It is not known to us how many lives have been claimed by them .It is beyond our imagination that a good number of them  are practicing as specialist and associated with the noted l private hospitals.

We may conclude with the only views that how unfortunate  are we !Secondly the role of  private hospitals and nursing homes. We are having a common  impression that the same are only rich people . However sometimes lower middle class people are being forced to visit there for not getting any seats  in govt hospitals. There are endless complaints about the most of the private hospitals like inflated bills , Wrong treatment ,Negligence ,Unnecessary application of ventilation and ICU etc .

As regards govt hospitals it may be said that the bulk of the population are being treated in the govt . hospitals and at free of cost. It has however been noticed that the infrastructure have been developed in in govt hospitals still lots to be done  in view of the fact shortage of beds . In some cases two patients are been provided in a single bed and the same   possibly suggest that we are still backward to large extent. It can't be denied  that the present govt has been trying their best with all financial odds .

Debabrata Biswas and Viswa Bharati Music Board.

There was a music Board. under Bisha Bharati in short   it was named as BMB. The life time of the same was fifty years from the day I of the death of Rabindra Nath. For each recording of Rabindra Sangeet  irrespective of all singers the approval of  the BMB was a must .As regards recording of Debabrata Biswas is concerned there was no problem till Sailaja Ranjan Maunder was in charge of the Board.Mazumder was highly  scholar person and expert  of Rabindra Sangeet. He was highly  respected person for his profound knowledge both in academic side and Rabindra Sangeet.After his death eminent expert of Rabindra Sangeet took over as head of the. Board . Debabrata Biswas had no problem with it Anadi Babu and after his death the problem started when the responsibility were given to a group of singers like Suchitra Mitra. Kanika  Nilima Sen. Subinoy  ROY and. Santidev Ghosh . They were junior to Debabrata Biswas both in age and experience. They raised a question for the first time in regard to use the music violating the norms of the Board.Debabrata replied with the facts and figures and the same was purely academic but the issue was not settled despite prolonged correspondences. Debabrata did not surrender to them in stead he stopped recording.The technical question which had been raised was official one but the unofficial reasons were they were jealous of his unprecedented popularity and highest earning of royalty . The most funny thing and surprising the most of  the then intellectuals who claimed to be close fans  they remained totally silent.He had to fight the war alone with a very straight bat that's his pen only . He didn't get any support from his Co Artists excepting only one Gita Ghatak. Despite the fact though he stopped recording but with the help of tape recorder he recorded about thousand songs . We should be happy just after completing fifty years of death of Rabindra Nath the Music Board had been abolished. My labour will be fruitful if you could take the pain of reading the same.Typographical errors are regretted.

Criminals Babas .

At this moment an honest  attempt may.  be made to find out the exact number of criminals gurus through out the country and giving  details of state wise .The nob may be taken up by the all state govts and each state govt  shall be responsible for the respective state . It has already been delayed. Hence there should be no delay .The situation is _alarming.The criminal guru who has been arrested is the owner of big kingdom the value of the same likely to be few thousand crore. Police raiding has been continuing and after completing the same the details of killing and about other anti social activities may be informed to us . It is shameful for the nation that such such   fraud gurus keep close contact with the political leaders of  the ruling and opposition parties along with the higher level of police department.Another important point the cooncerened baba is the owner  of such bingo  kingdom and it is obvious that no attempt has been taken by the income tax deptt to ascertain the value of the assets .one Baba may lead to loss of the country and if the number comes to a respectable figures the extent of loss and criminal acts committed by then are beyond imagination.

Train journey by a former captain of Indian cricket team.

Very recently one of our former respected and esteemed captains  has traveled by a train of Indian Railway and thus has glorified Indian Railway . I fail to understand everyday around two core passengers travel by train and it is certain that  among huge number of passengers there are sure some passengers who are highly scholars and professional personnels and for obvious reasons we don't pay any attention to them.But our attitude towards former captain to me a matter of funny.

The atmosphere of the station looked as if the president  of USA  was going.I feel for the poor Bengalis that an unlimited Bengalis were born in this soil , who made magnificent contribution s in      different fields  but unfortunately we have forgotten them .

We're now only after one person who has no social contributions. Who will free Bengali from all calamities ? I don't know whether we  should consider  ourselves as fortunate or unfortunate.

Best drama of the century.

We are extremely fortunate for  having an excellent opportunity in watching the best drama of the century  pertaining to appointment of the  Chief coach of the national cricket team. Three former national cricketers were in charge  of a technical committee of taking interviews of the candidates for the said post .On the fixed day interview was taken. Surprisingly one candidate who was rejected by the interview Board had appeared this time also. The most funny thing is one of the members of the technical committee announced that the matter of appointment of coach would be discussed with the captain of the national team and his opinion would  be given due importance. Or  in other words the recommendation of the captain will be final . Accordingly discussions was made with the caption and he made his strongest recommendation for the present coach .

While the caption was the last person in regard to appointment for the coach  It is one of the greatest fun to take the interview and there was no need of interview resulting t loss of  time and money.

However , according to choice or the captain appointment was issued.

The  surprising thing the candidate  was rejected last  year and the circumstances in which he had been proved to be suitable.

It may be concluded that the decision of last year was  either wrong or the current decision is wrong.

Now let us discuss about to second part of drama .The technical committee also recommended the names of supporting staff including the second cricket personality of the country as far as tests record is concerned. The name of a medium first bowler was also there.

Surprisingly the new coach raised an important question that the technical committee can't do anything in regard to appointment of supporting staff .

The Board accordingly withheld the appointment of Supporting staff .After waiting few days to second cricket personality of the country refused to accept any offer.

My question is   very simple whether two cricketers deserve such humiliation At the same time the technical committee is equally  responsible for such humiliation.Surprisingly they acted without the permission of the  Board .They also can't deny their responsibilities for the humiliation of the gems .

So called child artist in Bengali serials.

It has been experienced that  recently in every Bengali serial so called one  or more child artists are found .They are utilised in most of the   cases to deliver dialogues of the adults. Besides they are also used to act in   criminal characters.

To  me it is better to treat them as Child labour. They  are to work for ten to twelve hours.  The extent of hard work that they are to perform is surprising. Besides they  are to attend  schools.It  can be appreciated that after such work it is impossible to attend schools .Even they attend schools it is impossible to make time for doing the home tasks and also  read at home.

It therefore suggest that there is a big question before the academic career of the children artists.I don't know how the guardians allow their children to face such inhuman condition.

I shall pray to the appropriate authority to examine the whole subject.

MY heartfelt tribute to Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy.

Today is the birthday of the great great son of Bengal. I am fortunate that I had an excellent opportunity to see him  while I was a student of school .
He was the then Chief Minister of west Bengal.It  is very difficult to evaluate his much supremacy in three fields like medical profession ,  Administrator  and politics.He was the most surprising personality of the country  as a physician the county has ever produced.

Possibly he was the only Indian who completed his MRCP and FRCS within one year from UK.
As a physician he did miracles in respect of huge number of patients.Besides it is rare case where same person had qualified in  both medicine and surgery. The most surprising thing is that he could  diagnose  by seeing the patients without going for any test.Besides , during  his time no such arrangements of tests were available like today.

Even after being Chief Minister he used to examine few patients everyday at his residence.As a Chief Minister he held the office for fourteen years.He took over at a very crucial time.
At that time the east of the Bengal was included in Pakistan and renamed as East Pakistan.As a result of partition of Bengal from the former east part of Bengal huge number of people came here as refugees for which acute shortages of accommodation and food developed.

He faced the crisis bravely and efficiently.He established Ashokenagar for refugees ,a big township consisting of about ten thousand homes . He established Kalyani City . He established state Transport corporation with the object of employment of many young persons.During his tenure Haringhata  milk project ,Durgapur steel city and  Laketown and Salt Lake City were established.

He also established chittaranjan Railway Locomotive factory etc.It is indeed surprising that during his tenure of only fourteen years how he could do such huge work.Another very important thing   must be mentioned and I would like to attract the attention of the present generation. During his early days of practice as a physician he also worked as a part time taxi driver.
Apart from his immense reputation as physician something should be said about his political career. In 1923 he joined politics and within a very short time he became an important political leader.Firstly he became Mayor of KMC . In 1942 he was also nominated as VC of Calcutta University.

The great son of the country died on first July 1962 on his birthday.

Unwillingness to study nursing.

Very recently an important  as well as sensitive news through print media came to my notice to the fact that presently the girls are not willing to study nursing despite the fact few thousand posts of Nurses have been lying vacant in Govt Hospitals .As a result , the  Health Administration has been facing immense problems.It is surprising to see the said non interest.

I would    request to the appropriate authority to examine in depth to find out the reasons for the unwillingness to study nursing and if possible to find the way to solve the problems on the urgent basis. If no solution is found I propose kindly to think whether arrangements may be made to fill the vacancies by male candidates after getting them completed the course.

College admission and corrupt practice.

After passing higher secondary examination a large number of students  proceed for studying Medicine and Engineering .Some students proceed for polytechnic and many other courses . The remaining  huge number of students for general education go for admission in colleges.  Here  the whole problem starts .

The number of colleges having been less with reference   to the number of students .
As a result , huge demand arises for getting admitted into the colleges.  The problems arise for both the good and ordinary students.

A group of persons in almost every college take the chance of corrupt practice and take Bribe for getting admitted into colleges. As a result , it is found  some good students can not offer money and are unable to get admitted despite securing good marks .

It is extremely injustice on the good  students and it is a curse of the country. Besides it is not good for any individual and collectively large number of students start their higher education with bribe.

Besides it is found in electronic media that a large number of students look disappointed for being failed for admission despite doing well. For the interest of the society and of the large number of students  absolutely clean and fair system should be implemented to remove slightest corruption.

I would pray to the appropriate authority to take all steps to ensure that the corruption is totally removed and all students  get justice so that each student gets admitted according to  marks.

Soda prepared by poor quality of ice .

Very recently a sensitive news came to notice through both electronic and print medias to the fact that the soda which are being sold at the road side of the city by using very poor quality of ice  which are being used for the fish preservation and   the same suggests that such ice are not allowed for human consumption.While during summer huge quantities of soda are being sold everyday , and large number of people take the same  without knowing the fact about the ice.

I  was astonished and at the same time extremely disappointed when the news came to my notice. I thought about the large number of sellers who are not having minimum values and they  are only after profit. They don't care for the customers interest.

Kolkata municipal  corporation
has started to raid against the sub standard ice and they are destroying the same and at the same time they have admitted that due to poor infrastructure it is not possible for them for a hundred percent drive.

It  is my humble prayer to the appropriate authority to arrange major punishment who have been proved to be guilty and arrange for a hundred percent drive despite limitations and many odds and also to arrange to alert the customers.I however , appreciate the honest efforts of kolkata municipal corporation .

Tribute to Rahul Dev Barman.

Today is the birthday of esteemed music personality of the country ,Rahul Deb Barman. Had he been alive he would have been  Seventy eight years old today. Hewas also popularly known as Pancham. His father was also a legend singer   Sachin Dev Barman.

Pancham was a good singer and musician and lyricist . He  was genuinely a talented musician.  From his childhood he  showed his talent. He could contribute a lot but unfortunately his premature death had caused severe loss of the music world of our country.

Restoration of normalcy at Darjeeling.

The unrest situation is going on at Darjeeling for about a fortnight. The entire hill has been collapsed.  All fields of the areas have been collapsed. The industry , trade and commence , education are all  under suspension .Apat from the above large number of people have been unemployed and due to closure of the market the people are facing from acute shortage of food  and they are on the verge of fasting. Immediately all steps should be taken  to restore peace and negotiations should be started immediately.

Sunil Gavaskar the greatest cricket personality of the country and present position of our national cricket team.

At the very outset I must take the opportunity to convey my heartfelt  regards to Mr.Gavaskar for bringing the truth bravely following the  resignation of Anil Kumble as Chief Coach from our National team.

Had Kumble not resigned  we would have not got any chance to see the ugly appearances of our national players who are being worshipped by the cricket loving people of the country. They consider themselves above God .

The real fact is they have got more than their ability and they don't deserve at all for which they get the audacity to insult a person like Kumble. You have rightly said that they want such a coach to whom they will dictate and he should be a yes man of the captain and senior players .

Time has come when Board should be strict towards the cricketers .It is always found that the players always take upper hand on the Board  The reason of the weak attitude of the   Board .

I don't  Know whether there is any manual  for the   players in regard to discipline and other administrative matters.

Provisions must  be made for punishment of the players if they commit any wrong .similar manual is necessary indicating duties and Powers of the Coach .If the same has not been prepared the same must be prepared urgently.

If necessary all the players may be expelled permanently and may be started from zero.  I will conclude by expressing my warmest regards to esteemed Mr. Gavaskar for using the straight Spine .

Departure of Kumble as coach from our national cricket team.

I was extremely happy to see him as Head coach.Indeed it was one of the finest decisions to appoint him . His appointment was possibly above all controversies. Firstly his cricket carrier was magnificent. He was an out and out gentleman in the field and outside the  field .He is highly educated along with good personality.Initially he was appointed for one year and subsequently the same was extended to the end of the west Indies tour of Indian team.

Yesterday the team started for the west Indies and accordingly Kumble was to accompany but he didn't.It was informed in the evening that he had submitted his resignation.To me yesterday was a black day in the history of our national cricket. It has been noticed from the print media for the last few days that the relation between the captain and Coach has been strained.
Or in other words the Coach must be a yes man of the captain. He will not enjoy any liberty and he Will have no right to give any advice to senior players .This practice has been continuing for a long time.

Earlier a good number of coaches continued for a  long time very  peacefully without entering into cricket.The only exception was possibly Greag chappel. He was not agreeable to act in the said manner and he had to leave.The present practice is a Coach must be a slave of the captain and other senior cricketers.

It would be the best decision  to stop the appointment of coach permanently as the drama may not be enjoyed by all.

Reputed group theatres and learners.

At the very outset I should honestly admit that I have no direct or indirect relation with the theatre. Yet  I respect it and I was well informed about the same in earlier years.

I am totally ignorant about the present time and I will talk few lines about the subject which I noticed from an interview given by a departed noted theatre personality where the gentleman expressed with his deep sympathy that a good number of Young boys and girls join reputed group theatres with a dream to be good actors and actresses.

But unfortunately they were  being utilised with various jobs other than acting. They were allowed to watch the rehearsal year after year. In this way the most valuable time of ten to fifteen years had been wasted . The dream of being actors and actresses had been destroyed. If the same was true it was very unfortunate or in other words the same might be termed as exploitation while the groups are marked as progressive. 

I don't know whether the same practice has been still continuing.

Fast food and young generation.

It has been noticed from various articles written by Physicians and dieticians that first foods are harmful for health while  the same are being liked by  our young generation. They don't like our conventional food items like Bengali special i.e.  Luchi or paratha with various vegetables fry , Halua  ,Muri along with fried items (telebhaja ) , Egg omelette etc. Instead they like fish fry,cutlets, Rolls prepared by eggs, fish , chicken ,Various Chinese preparations etc.

As a result of huge demand in every locality a good number of shops have been opened for the said items.The only positive side of the same is  directly or indirectly sufficient jobs have been created.

Our Mangoes .

We the Bengalis are proud of this most popular fruit . The same are available from  May to September.In our state plenty of Mangoes are produced. Major portion of Mangos are produced in three districts like Manda , Murshidabad and Nadia . Apart from export for domestic consumption various small industries based on mango like jelly , jam , Am satta  etc are grown up.

Presently more advancement have been made like mango cards and mango ice cream , mango sweets etc .  These items have become very popular.

The same has given employment to many people directly or indirectly.  If we  give more  attention the  development of industry based on mango may be developed and many jobs further may be created as the future of the king of fruits are bright and the demand of the same are constantly increasing.
